Momentum towards equality: Results from the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES) in Tanzania

This joint report by Promundo, Uzazi Na Malezi Bora Tanzania (UMATI), Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS), Economic Development Initiatives Limited (EDI) and the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) outlines findings from the International Men and Gender Equality Study (IMAGES) in Tanzania. It presents qualitative and quantitative data on gender norms, attitudes and behaviour across a range of areas, including domestic divisions of labour and care-giving, gender-based violence and sexuality. The study highlights the strong influence of growing up in a gender-equitable home and mass media exposure on attitudes to gender equality.
