Through documenting a project funded by the BRACED programme, this paper describes NGOs’ approaches to promote gender equality as a resilience building strategy. It discusses how gender programming that seeks to trigger long-term, holistic changes in gender norms can implement activities in practice that challenge inequalities and foster transformation in the context of the Sahel.
