Empowering women through stronger land rights is critical for reducing gender inequalities and promoting long-term investments, yet women’s land governance is hindered by harmful social and gender norms in many social contexts. The Global Learning Collaborative hosted an engaging and informative session on changing social and gender norms to promote equitable land and resource governance.
This webinar featured presentations from three programs: the USAID Integrated Land and Resource Governance (ILRG) program, the World Bank Gender Innovation Lab, and Oxfam Novib. Each has taken a different approach to identifying and shifting norms related to land governance across Chad, Ghana, India, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia.
We reflected on similarities and differences in approaches, findings, and insights for future programs and research. Participants brought their questions and curiosity to learn more about this critical issue.
