Learning communities on the move (LCOM) for girl-led activism and norms shifting

This is a technical model for girl-led activism and norms shifting, “Learning Communities on the Move (LCOM)”, developed in partnership between CARE’s Tipping Point Project and Empower – The Emerging Markets Foundation. Emerging from the understanding that girls’ expertise is visibly absent from decision-making spaces that affect their lives and rights, the LCOM model challenges the root of this dynamic through the cultivation of girl-led activism. The LCOM model, separated into two core practical and user-friendly packages, includes a guide for mentors and trainers involved in girl-led programming and activism and a guide to enable support the girls themselves to implement in their advocacy and influencing.

LCOM: Mentors' Training and Facilitation Package
This training and facilitation package can be used by programmers working with adolescent girls in education, food and nutrition, economic empowerment, CEFM (Child, Early and Forced Marriage), and humanitarian sectors. It can also be used by anyone conducting or designing a girl-led program, developing a proposal to work with girls or for those directly working with girls and require fresh ideas on how to create and sustain program activities.
